Research reveals people are spending too long on their Office applications
Returning from a meeting with the UK's Microsoft Office Product Manager a couple of weeks ago highlighted an interesting issue. During the meeting he stated that it's a known fact that corporates spend more time with their Microsoft Office applications than they do their spouse; a worrying, but what seems to be a very true statement.
After carrying out some research into this, we found that a number of investigations and discussions featured similar topics. A blog posted on AnswerBag asked the question whether people thought they spent more time on their computers than with their partners, which (unsurprisingly) the majority of people agreed. The Mail Online also found that research revealed we are spending more time and longer hours at work than at home. This is the most common problem people report at work, according to TUC research, where they found the biggest complaints from workers regarded workloads, stress and having to work longer hours (hazard magazine). However, the most prominent story seemed to suggest that more and more people are now taking their work to bed with them - much to their partners annoyance! Two articles by Design Engineer and PRfire, revealed that 57 per cent of these people work between 2 and 6 hours every week - in bed! The survey also found that 8 per cent of people admitted that they spent more time on their mobile devices than talking to their partners during the evening.
