Microsoft exhibits it's revolutionary new product - Project Natal.

Microsoft have recently brought out a revolutionary new product, bringing gesture recognition to the Xbox 360. This long awaited motion sensor is Microsoft's response to the Nintendo Wii's market domination of this generation of consoles. The product, named Project Natal, exhibited itself during an E3 media event and blew all possible competition out of the window - including creating quite a stir for the Nintendo rivals. The new device works by tracking individual's whole body movements without the need of any handheld remote controller.

This innovative new product by Microsoft may not however be restricted to simply gaming use. In a recent interview with CNET, Bill Gates believe it will also transform the office environment through the 'technology coming to Windows'. Gates continued to tease the potential prospects of Project Natal,  stating the depth-sensing cameras could even find a place in the business world for interacting in meetings, communication and collaboration.

Microsoft's Craig Mundie shares a similiar view to Gates, believing the Project Natal will be the successor to the desktop. In a demo at Microsoft's financial analyst meeting the desktop of the future was exhibited showing how the device will use the space of an entire office room. The demo revealed features such as hologram-like video conferencing a long with voice, touch and gesture recognition technology. The desk was a multitouch surface computer and the office walls a display for numerous workspaces.

This is the dream, and Mundie believes there's a direct path to make this happen. With its ability to run a media centre wirelessly, Project Natal is the first big step towards removing the need for remote controllers altogether. The potential of the 'future desktop' could transform working life; not only with its incredible impact and "wow" factor, the new techhnology can keep documentations well organised, allows for easy navigation and means individuals are not restricted to a single screen - making presentation possibilities endless!

Your office may never look the same again!
