Who needs remote controllers?
28 Jul 2009
Remote controller devices are now getting replaced by.. well nothing!
A future controller for presentations and interactive displays does not feature the usual advanced technological gadgets and flashing lights, but is in fact your very own hand.
GestureTek is the world leader in camera-enabled gesture-recognition technology for presentation and entertainment systems. The technology allows users to control multi-media content, access information, manipulate special effects and even immerce themselves in an interactive 3D virtual world, all without the need to wear, hold or touch anything.
GestureTek have come up with a new device known as AirPoint, a highly innovative alternative to using a mouse or keyboard. It very cleverly tracks your hand movement and instantly finds your finger for 'point to click' interactivity. the device is relatively small and can be carried around with ease.
AirPoint is equally beneficial in public interactive display installations or more intimate venues such as office boardrooms and presentation centres. It provides touch-free interactivity from any distance the user is from the display - it is a straight 1 to 1 interface. Also being quick and easy to set up, the AirPoint is the remote of the future, allowing you to take control of your presentations with your very own hands!
