Castrol
Castrol offer programmes to car dealerships around the UK to help,support and encourage them to sell more Castrol products. Besides the obvious plastic bottles of engine oil, they offer ‘red carpet’ schemes for Service Managers and trade finance to the dealerships for example. They were very keen to promote the added value of their products and update their image of being more than just sellers of lubricants.
We suggested building an online training tool in a 3D environment. We visited a dealership and took photos and sample textures. We then modelled a 3D version with interactive flash at the front end and PowerPoint underpinning the entire project at the backend.
A highly valuable tool for the sales team, they can demonstrate the toolkit, zoom into the ‘dealership’ and show ways of enhancing the Castrol product range. The toolkit is editable and includes a CMS system, allowing the users to update, add, remove and amend the data. The success of this product in the UK means that it is now being rolled out throughout the EMEA region too.
